Eptalofos BIO Red Wine - 750 ml

Eptalofos BIO Red Wine - 750 ml

CHF 25.00

The bio red wine Eptalofos comes from the co-vinification of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, ages in French oak barrels (that are used for three times), for 12 months, and afterwards it is left to mature for 2 years in the bottle at least, in the cellar which is in the basement of the winery. We are talking about a wine that is still at his peak after 10 years, as proven by the bottles of the vintage of 2006.

The Tower that you see on the label is called Queen's Tower (Pyrgos Vasilissis) and it is a former royal estate near Athens. The estate, consisting today of 200 hectares, was purchased by King Otto, the first king of modern Greece. He built the castle for his wife, Queen Amalia. The architecture resembles the Hohenschwangau castle in Bavaria, built for Maximilian II of Bavaria, the brother of King Otto. As the castle is only one tower, it is called the Queen's Tower. After the abdication of King Otto, the estate was sold to the Serpieri family, who still own it. There is a dairy farm and a vineyard on the estate. The wines bottled on the estate are called "Tour la Reine"

Those wines were awarded at great national and international exhibitions, and were widely consumed at restaurant, hotels, and bars. All of the wines of the Queen’s Tower estate were famous in Greece and abroad.

The wines of the estate were advertised in Europe by the French firm of hotels called “The Great Hotels of Paris” which was the exclusive buyer of the wines of the estate. Throughout 1937 the wines of the estate were being sold besides Greece, to Egypt, the United States and India!
